While we enjoy shooting weddings, commercials and the like, our true passion lies in creating original narrative works. Growing up around our father’s video business, we began making shorts for class projects in grade school. We kept at it in high school and ultimately in college, where this passion culminated in our first attempt at a feature length film. The 80-minute experiment was shot and edited with the help of our friends and family and submitted as Brady’s senior thesis. We called it Socially Handicapped.

Not long ago we dove back into the Socially Handicapped well to make a sequel of sorts comprised of (originally planned 12) short films, each one representing (and completed in) a single month in the year 2013. 17 videos later, we bring you A Sequel of Shorts.

In addition to short narrative films, we have also worked on several short and long form documentaries.

Occasionally we serve as crew and/or actors for other individual’s projects.

Our team has dabbled in animation as well. Primarily we utilize Adobe After Effects for this, but we have also used Autodesk’s 3Ds Max.

The name Dead Shark originated from the movie “Annie Hall” where the two main characters (played by Woody Allen and Diane Keaton) are talking about how relationships are like sharks in that they have to constantly move forward or they die; to which Allen’s character says “I think what we got on our hands is a dead shark” (referring to their relationship). Besides the fact that we like that movie, we take the same principle and apply it to our film and video work, so that the Dead Shark serves as a reminder to constantly keep “moving” forward, continue learning new skills, and not let our quality of work plateau, or motivations wane. We must remain in Shark Mode.
